The "Presidential Award for Volunteerism" is the most prestigious award in the field of volunteering, given each year by the President of the State of Israel.

The aim of this award is to recognize the work done by individuals and groups in all sectors of the populations and to encourage the spirit of voluntarism in Israel's society.

Hundreds of recommendations of suitable volunteers arrive at the President's Residence to be examined by a special judging committee.

The organizations, whose volunteering efforts have been the most prominent that year, are selected.
