 Thanks to ICA assistance, the establishment of the new and unique Laughter Room was completed for the welfare of children who have cancer. This room enables the children to enter a world of sheer adventure, a celebration of the senses and laughter. The Laughter Room was made possible thanks to the donation of the Bronstein Dora and Chernia Antel Estate.
The Sarah Markovich Breast Care Center was constructed at Kaplan Medical Center. The center is designed to provide comprehensive treatment to women diagnosed with breast cancer in order to help them cope with the complicated ramifications of this disease, and to provide them with personal support from the moment they are diagnosed until all treatments are completed, and throughout rehabilitation. The Sarah Markovich Center was established in memory of Sarah Markovich's children who perished in the holocaust.
The ICA is assisting in the upgrade of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Ward at the Tel-Aviv Sourasky Medical Center.
ICA has assisted in establishing the Rosenblatt Center in Haifa. The center is geared toward activities and support for cancer patients and their families.
The Wellness Community Center is operated by ICA. It uses a new unique support mode that offers lectures, support groups and comprehensive workshops for patients, survivors and their families.
ICA constantly seeks to improve patients' welfare and therefore continues to purchase innovative equipment. Recently ICA purchased a PCR device for Assaf Harofe Hospital. The PCR enables the implementation of genetic testing.
ICA recently purchased a Vacuum-assisted Breast Biopsy Device for Hadassah Medical Center at Ein Karem. This device enables the implementation of US and MRI guided biopsies. ICA recently assisted in equipping the oncology institute at Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya in Tiberias. The center aims to save patients needless long-distance travel for oncological treatment.
With the dedication of our Chairperson ICA London, Mrs. Vered Aaron and the generosity of David and Simon Reuben and family; ICA opened The Reuben foundation Comprehensive Breast Care Center at the Linn Clinic in Haifa. The Linn Medical Center will constitute a professional, high quality service that will provide women with medical service, accompaniment and personal support from the moment they are diagnosed with breast cancer and until the completion of the coping process and rehabilitation.
The expansion of the Suzy Eban Oncology Unit at the Ziv Medical Center in Safed began toward the end of 2008. With the aid of the Clore Foundation the welfare of patients admitted to the unit has improved tremendously.
Purchase of Laser Devise for Photodynamic Treatments for solid tumors for the Oncology Lab at Assaf Harofe Medical Center with the generosity of the Stuuczinski Fund. This innovative treatment is implemented to destroy abnormal cells in the body.
Purchase of Ovary Freezing System for unmarried women, prior to chemotherapy treatment, for the Soroka Medical Center, Beer Sheva. With the assistance of the Friends of the ICA London, chaired by Ms. Vered Aaron, the device was purchased and now enables women who contracted cancer to maintain their fertility capacity following cancer treatments.
Purchase of the device for Detecting Cancer in Bone Marrow for Bnei Zion Medical Center which enables the receipt of more precise and reliable results at a much quicker rate.
